Our sardines with black beans, corn and salsa have a citrusy flavor and a bit of spicy heat. Consider adding them to tacos, sandwiches or rice, or eating them straight from the tin with tortilla chips. Sardines reproduce fast, making them a more renewable resource. Ours come from thriving, well-managed populations in the Bay of Biscay, off Northern Spain and are caught using small-scale purse seines to reduce bycatch and prevent overharvest. We partner with fishermen who belong to centuries-old cofradias, or guilds, which share profits and encourage cooperation.
